My cousin has really screwed up his life since his parents decided to leave the church, making their children also become exmormon. He would’ve been happier in the church, but now he is a recovering drug addict, he chain smokes (and I was rather scared for him when every 10 minutes was him “cutting back a lot”), and he drinks until he passes out every night. I bet his parents wish now that he were a happy Mormon than a miserable exmormon. He lost his wife and child due to his drinking and his life is completely shallow. He only lives for himself.
