After carefully considering the budget, it is quite evident that there is no “give” in the budget at present that would permit the purchase of new cabinetry. My heart has been set on black kitchen cabinets since we had to install all new stainless steel appliances due to a lightening strike. Unfortunately, my cabinets being non-electric suffered no damage at all. So off to the paint store I go. The salesperson was great and gave me several tips that one might like to know before painting. Clean the surface thoroughly. Glossy surfaces will require a mild sanding before applying fresh paint or primer. Primer should be in grey or black tones to achieve the best coverage with the least amount of paint. Follow directions closely as to drying time in between coats. Brighten the walls with a lighter color and you now have a smashing new look for your kitchen.
