How Stress Impacts Your Blood Pressure
Literally I always used to check my blood pressure at the free station at the grocery store and I could never figure out why my pressure was so high. I’ve been really working to take care of myself by exercising, cutting back on the sodium, you name it and it was so frustrating to not see those numbers move. Then a friend of mine went grocery shopping with me a couple of weeks ago, and she commented, “Boy, you really don’t like doing this, do you?” I realized that the stress and overload of being in a busy, noisy store was actually raising my blood pressure! So I just decided to buy myself a blood pressure cuff and take my own readings at home. It’s a great example of how your situational stress levels can change your health readings from moment to moment. Now all I need to do is figure out how to do my grocery shopping online!
