A pin exchange network would have been developed solely for blackberry phone users. An exchange is where a user swaps there blackberry pin with another user which then allows them to communicate through there handset for free. You can find many pin exchanges designed for certain countries or cities, there a popular one called London Blackberry Pin which is free but as you will see there are many to choose from.

The blackberry pin feature has been around for several years already but with the release of the new blackberries more people are getting involved and using there pin as away to meet new people and make new friends. If you have a blackberry and havent used the pin feature yet then give it ago as it can be quite fun.
