Here fishermen still bring in the catch every day – and seafood never sees a freezer before being served at your table. With such a variety of ports and opportunities, Western Mediterranean cruises attract passengers of all ages from North America, Great Britain, and continental Europe. Larger ships will use smaller harbors, such as Cannes, but most major ports of call have modern wharves built for large western mediterranean cruises ships. Dozens of cruise companies offer itineraries in the western Mediterranean, on vessels ranging from mega-ships to small luxury yachts. Cruising to Europe has never been better nor more affordable so get in the action while you can.

When I was making the travel plans for my upcoming vacation the first thing that I did was to book myself a stay at a luxury vacation rental.  Knowing where I was going to stay while I was on vacation made it easier for me to make the other arrangements for my trip such as what attractions I wanted to visit and what restaurants I wanted to go out to eat at.  It also allowed me to research the area beforehand so that when I got there I would not have to worry about getting lost because I would know my way around.

I’ve been a little torn about searching for tefl information to see if I can get certified to teach English as a Foreign Language while in Argentina.  To be honest, I’ve been an English teacher (well, a teacher of English Literature) for six years now, and I think it may be time for a change.  Sure, I could take the TEFL course, meet some nice people, and gain a few new skills, but I just don’t know how much more I’m going to grow as a person with this whole standing in front of a classroom thing.  Even if I were only teaching English to one adult student at a time (which is a far cry from a class full of thirty-one screaming teenagers), I still think it would get boring awfully quickly.  That said, teaching a person English is a way to open up their entire world.  So many more jobs are open to them if they can speak our language!  In short, I’m about fifty percet interested in getting certified.

When Brits move out to live in another country they do of course have to get used to the ways things are done there. Take for example the utilities in Spain. My brother lived out in Spain for several years, so he obviously had to get connected to electricity and water, though he didn’t have mains gas, rather he bought bottled gas. The bottled gas served the barbecue, and the gas fire in the living room. Bills there, unlike in the UK, have to be paid every two months rather than every three. The utility providers won’t mess about either if bills are not paid. They will cut users off with very little warning.

In celebration of our son’s college graduation we wanted to go somewhere special. We contacted captiva island vacation rentals and soon we were on a vacation like like never before. We rented a lovely private home on Captiva Island which had us feeling like royalty. The home was immaculately appointed with beautiful furnishings and high-tech electronics. However, it is the outdoor setting that makes Captiva even more amazing. The white sand beaches, tropical gardens, and perfect weather made our outdoor activities a real treat. We will definitely return to Captiva on our next vacation. The unspoiled beauty of Captiva Island can be yours to enjoy on your next excursion.

It seems that wherever you go, cabbies are a great source of information and trivia about the area. Whenever I’m in a new place and need a restaurant recommendation, I always ask my cab driver. From uptown to hometown, they can always give me the best places to eat. It doesn’t end there. When I travel out of the country, I always get the best travel money best rates places through information I get in the cab as well. When you think about it, who really knows an area better than a cab driver? They end up all over town as a matter of course.

My childhood was an especially interesting one, although I did not even realize it at the time.  By the time I was 12 years old, I had lived in 7 different countries and had seen virtually every corner of the world.  My dad was an international businessman who took us along on his journeys, so it was truly a multicultural childhood!  In my opinion, the best place we lived was in South Africa, and I have such fond memories of growing up there.  My mom recently sent me a link to some south africa travel blogs that brought back such great memories.  My mom loved it just as much as I did!

There has been a significant amount of growth around my town recently, mainly new houses and apartment complexes, but there has also been quite a large increase in local business. Several new restaurants and bars have opened, along with some new tour operators and a new car hire company. It really is quite amazing to see just how much development has occurred in the last 18 months. In fact I was talking to a friend of mine in the local planning office and he was telling me that are expecting about 3000 new residents over the next 2 years. That’s a big increase for a town of only 20,000.

I am trying to figure out the best way to save money on hotel stays. I don’t mean just choosing from among the cheap hotels Perth has to offer. What I really want to be able to do is find a way to get a really good deal on a good hotel. I know that some hotels have different frequent visitor type clubs, and I am wondering whether or not joining one or more of these would save me much money when I travel. I am hoping to start travelling a bit more now that the kids are a little bit older.
